Slumber Support® was designed by a patient who had undergone hip replacement surgery, with the guidance and support of his physiotherapist, to allow a person to sleep safely and comfortably on their side.
Slumber Support is now recommended by physiotherapists and consultants at West Suffolk Hospital, Ramsay Rivers Hospital (Sawbridgeworth) and Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge.
It is now manufactured and registered as a medical device in the UK. (Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC Class1) the design is protected by ACID (Anti Copying in Design).
HIPS
Slumber Support® can be used to support your hip from beneath whilst sleeping on your side. In addition it may be used post-operatively allowing the patient to lie on their side and significantly reducing the chance of abduction.
PLEASE NOTE* Before post operative use of this product you should take professional advice from a qualified physiotherapist or consultant.
BACK
Slumber Support® may be used to alleviate lower back pain with referred symptoms into the leg, by maintaining the lumbar spine in a neutral position and preventing the supported leg rolling forward - so putting a torsion on the lower spine.
KNEES
Slumber Support® will support the knee from below, helping it from medical movement, whilst sleeping on the side.
